Book 2 in the ORDER OF THE MAJESTIC trilogy comes out June 16th!
I read the preview for the book on amazon and I am very excited! ((SPOILERS)) I cannot believe that Hypnova is there, this makes so much sense. Honestly I remember reading the first two Jack Blank Adventures when i discovered them at the library in 2012 in the first year of middle school, and I waited anxiously for the End of Infinity to be released all summer long. I read it the end of infinity in a day and I never really could let go of that series ever since. The jack blank adventures really struck a chord with me and inspired me to create my own stories, characters, and writings for the past eight years. Now that i get to see a character from a series that is very close to my heart return in another new series, its like a dream come true. I wouldn’t be the same person i am today without your books inspiring me and helping me through some tough times all those years ago, and it means a lot just to just know that there is a chance however slim that i might be able to return to the imagine nation for a new story read one day. I am sorry to ramble on but i just wanted to say thank you, and i can’t wait to read the lost kingdom when it comes out.
Abby, I’m so glad you are still excited to read the book and not upset that you ran into a spoiler via the Amazon preview! ;-] Honestly, it means the world to me when people like you tell me how much the Jack Blank books meant to them, and I am so happy to be bringing these worlds together. I’m not done with the Imagine Nation either!
so I have only read your series Jack Blank Series (witch is my #1 favorite book) but i was wondering if your going to make a 4th jack blank book? Also I am going to read the other series but i was wondering if it is correct that Hypnova is in another one of your books/Series? I would love to know because that would be SO amazing!
Hi! Without spoiling anything, I can tell you that if you are in the market for a Jack Blank #4, the best thing you could do is start reading Order of the Majestic. I’m in the process of revising book 3 in the series right now, and I think Jack Blank fans are going to be very happy when it comes out this summer!
Hi will there ever be a third seaborne book?
Nothing is impossible… I have ideas about the Ralian brothers trying to get their revenge on Dean, and mixing in some cool stuff with ghost ships, but I’m not planning to write that story at the moment. Just finishing up MAJESTIC 3, and then, who knows?
ohhh my god!!! after you finish up your current book, please PLEASE continue the seaborne series! i could read all day long about dean!
You never know… I was on a beach recently and started getting inspired for new SEABORNE scenes. And, I don’t like that there are 3 Jack Blank books, 3 Majestic books, and 2 Seaborne books… the obsessive compulsive in me wants it to be 3, 3, and 3. ;]
Hi! I’m not even sure you’ll see this, but I just wanted to say thank you for writing these books! Without reading Order of The Majestic I would have never read anything during this pandemic or thought of becoming an author. I found the first book in my middle school’s library and borrowed it just in time before my school shutdown. I am right now trying to read the first book to my younger siblings(I decided to read it to them after I finished book 2) and they love it as well. Order of The Majestic, in my opinion, was such a beautiful and awesome well written story. I love that the unexpected was not what I expected, which is one of the many reasons why these books are one of my many favorites. I just wanted to say that if I ever follow through with becoming an author I have you and Order of The Majestic to thank for. My only questions would be do you have any advice for wannabe authors? And when starting a story, what do you think one should do in the drafts?Other than that, I just want to say thank you and that I am eager to read The Lost Kingdom.
Wow, thank you for such a lovely note! I’m so glad you enjoyed ORDER OF THE MAJESTIC. I just finished my second draft of Book 3 in the series, which not only wraps up Joey’s story, but crosses over with my JACK BLANK books as part of a connected universe. I’m excited for people to read it.
I think it’s great that you are inspired to become an author! I have lots of advice I can share, but everyone’s process is different, so nothing I say is the only way to do things. With drafts, I like to plot out the basic elements of the story in the 3-act structure first. (Act 1: Introduce the characters and the problem, Act 2: the characters deal with the problem, Act 3: the characters solve or fail to solve the problem). Pretty simple and basic, right? Beginning, middle, and end. But, there are lots of things that go into that. Act 1 needs an “inciting event.” Something that kicks the story off. Acts 1 & 2 end with turning points that move the story forward. Act 1 turning point the protagonist has to commit to the adventure or problem. Act 2 usually ends with the hero falling flat on his or her face, and then they need to make a comeback in Act 3… it’s funny how there is a formula for most stories we read, and writers can follow that formula and still create wholly original things. A book called SCREENPLAY by Syd Field helped me learn this stuff when I was younger and had a hard time sorting out all the story elements in my head.
Other than that, I think the most important thing is to write the story you want to read. The one you will have fun writing. I spent a lot of time writing books and screenplays that were chasing hot trends. Things I thought I could sell to a publisher easier. It wasn’t until I wrote THE ACCIDENTAL HERO, which took place in the comic book world of superheroes (something I loved and still love) that I finally wrote a book that sold. To this day, I believe the reason that book came out better than the ones that came before it was because I enjoyed the work of writing it.
Hope that helps! Keep writing – and reading!!
I love the books I’ve read the whole Jack Blank series and I’ve read Order of the Majestic.
You are my HERO!
Seriously, thanks so much for reading. I can’t wait until you can check out OOTM 3 this summer. Get ready for the Jack Blank / Majestic crossover!
Oh yes I can’t wait! I just found the first book of the jack blank series and it has taken me 3 extra days to reserve all the books from the series and I can not wait to get and read the order of the majestic series and PLEASE make another book for the jack blank series I hope that their is another
I still have some future plans for the Jack Blank stories, so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, this summer should be a great ride for JB fans in Book 3 of Majestic. Had so much fun going back to the Imagine Nation. Hope you will too!
Thanks that’s so great I just started reading the majestic series and it is great and i am on the first page. also I love you art drawings of revile and jack and friends they all look so great and put the story in to perspective for me. cant wait for majestic series book 3!
hey, the books are cool. I really like them. Although I’m sure you hear that a lot. I read some of the other book reveals on this website. I don’t want to sound bored. To be honest I’m a little frustrated because I want to be an author like you. Someone who inspires others to be creative, use their imaginations. I’ve read all of your books and I was wondering if you have a technique to not getting frustrated when you hit a writers block? I hope you continue to write and inspire. I’m not sure whether you’ll see this message or not, but if you do please respond.
Hi! Thanks for writing to me! I think the best advice I can give for getting through writer’s block is just to keep forcing yourself to sit down and write SOMETHING as often as you can. Sometimes we get so hung up thinking about what to write it can be paralyzing. But when we make ourselves put our butts in the chair and write for 5 or 10 minutes, just to get something down… sometimes magic happens. An idea pops into your brain that you never would have had if you weren’t sitting there doing the work. And some ideas can only come when you are “in the story.” I don’t write every day, but when I am working on something I try to write almost every day. I have a routine where I get up really early and try to spend the first hour or so of every day writing. Before all the stress and pressures of life start to compete for my attention. Some days I’ll get a page or two written. Some days only a paragraph. But if I do that almost every day, at the end of a year, all those baby steps always add up to a finished story. And the work becomes easier if I and doing it on a regular basis, because it keeps part of my brain in the world of my characters at all times. That’s what I mean by being “in the story.” If I take too long in between writing sessions, it takes longer for me to settle back into my character’s world and their mindsets. So, to sum up: 1.) just force yourself to do the work, good or bad. You can always come back and revise later. 2.) Go easy on yourself. Don’t feel pressure to write every day, but do try and find a routine that works for you. And 3.) Stick with it. Keep moving forward one step, one page, one line at a time… and eventually you will get to the end.
Good luck!!! Keep writing–and reading!
What’s your favorite color? Don’t think I’m a weirdo for asking. I ask every body because it’s a question they don’t expect. Hey Matt do you see my name at the top? I did it like that because I’ve always thought it would look cooler than just Max Anderson. Anyways let’s talk about your books. I’ve read all of your books. There really great. I want to become an author because making a story is more than just writing, it’s living in the clouds, or in your case the Imagine Nation. Writing will take you on an adventure, frustrating sometimes, but that will make it all the more worth while when you make a break through and the words just coming streaming out of you in a tornado of wonder. Well see you later and have a good day. P. S. YOUR BOOKS ARE GREAT!!!!!!!!!
Hi, I do see your name at the top, M.R. Anderson! However, I think Max Anderson is a pretty cool name too. ;] That is great that you want to be an author! I say go for it. Just write the fun stories that you would like to read yourself. That’s what I did with Jack Blank. It was a story I knew I would have fun writing and I think that made all the difference in the world. It can definitely be frustrating at times, but like you said, it’s so worth it when you are able to take a story that existed only in your head and pull it into the real world so other people can understand it, read it, and understand it the same way you do. Please keep writing and don’t give up on it! And THANKS FOR READING!!
